We PROVIDE a comprehensive experience
With our 20 years of experience working with Macs, we can proudly say:
We are macOS specialists (the Apple Mac Operating System)
I, the owner, used to be an Apple Mac certified technician during the year 2006.
I got both my Apple certification on Mac desktop and Mac server.
That was around the time macOS Tiger (aka 10.4) was released on MacBooks with PowerPC chips.
Since then I have been a Mac enthusiast and never left the eco-system.
I have evolved in the IT department to become a network administrator, managing Linux and macOS servers at the company I was working for at the time.
I was also an early adopter of the “hackintosh” movement which was about running macOS on an intel PC (at the time, a Pentium 4)
So I feel very comfortable and “at home” when helping clients troubleshooting software issues on their MacBooks.
I often hear from clients telling me that they come to me since troubleshooting multiple small problems might take them hours whereas it might take me only a few minutes, so why wasting our time.
We stock the most common MacBook parts
And this is why we do not repair or service any other brand devices like Windows PCs.
We are a small company, renting a small business space and dealing with a limited amount of clients per day.
We are a family size business which fits with the place where we are, Phuket island.
It’s a business model choice.
Therefore we have decided to focus only on what we have the most experience with, and that is MacBooks and Mac computers in general.
While other computers shops may have to order parts (because they can’t keep up with every PC brands and computer models), we do keep a stock of the most demanded MacBook parts to speed up the repair process.
We do in house motherboard (logic board) repairs
That’s a service that Apple, indeed, does NOT provide.
Instead they’ll replace the entire logic board which now comes with your data (soldered on).
That’s a general trend in the electronic world. Putting as much circuits as possible on a single board, the motherboard in the case of a laptop, to make the repair unbearable and push the customer to buy a new machine.
When MacBooks used to have their hard drive, RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi on separate parts allowing upgradability and repairability, these days are now over.
Each of these circuits is now part of the motherboard forcing clients to have their motherboard repaired in order to save their data or avoid a bill that would not make sense (the price of a new motherboard)
Luckily we are here to help to repair MacBooks motherboards since they are not. And that is the only way if your data is trapped in your dead MacBook.
We care about your data
While we will ask you to sign our terms and conditions when dropping off your device which state that we are not responsible for your data, we will also take all the safety precautions to protect your data from accidentally being wiped.
Working in the IT industry for 20 years as taught me to be very cautious with data and do backups.
But I know that’s not what consumers do and that’s why we do provide MacBook data recovery services for emergency cases.
We provide Mac trainings at the shop
Because of the heavy traffic on the Phuket island and what it would take (and cost) to do for an on-site training service, we have decided to only provide trainings at the shop.
You can book an hour with us (we’ll ask you to pay in advance) and let us know what the subject will be or let us guide you if you are new with Macs.
